Webinar on lncRNAs advancing therapeutics for cancer and heart disease

lncRNA

The authors of two new high impact papers in Nature and Science Translational Medicine describe how long non-coding RNAs are providing new therapeutic avenues in cancer and heart disease.

Prof. Thomas Thum Prof. Thomas Thum
Director of the Institute of Molecular and Translational Therapeutic Strategies
Hannover Medical School, Germany

Prof. Thum will describe results from the recent Science Translational Medicine paper demonstrating that silencing the lncRNA Chast in mouse models using Antisense LNA™ GapmeRs prevents cardiac hypertrophy and even reverses established cardiac disease.

Prof. Jean Christophe Marine Prof. Jean-Christophe Marine
Head of the VIB Laboratory for Molecular Cancer Biology
K.U. Leuven, Belgium

Prof. Marine will present results from the recent Nature paper showing that melanoma cancer cells are addicted to the lncRNA SAMMSON. They demonstrate that Antisense LNA™ GapmeRs targeting SAMMSON significantly suppress tumor growth in xenograft melanoma models, and also increase the sensitivity of melanoma to MAPK-targeting therapeutics.
