Position Summary: A postdoctoral research fellow position is available at the Mayo Medical School – Mayo Clinic (Rochester, Minnesota) to study the functions and mechanisms of post-transcriptional regulations and long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) mediated regulations in mammalian cells.
The potential candidate will utilize primary cell culture systems and mouse models in combination with high throughput RNA sequencing, ribosome-profiling, CLIP-seq, and flow cytometry methods to study how mRNA binding proteins and long noncoding RNAs control gene expression under normal and pathological conditions.
Highly motivated individuals with a recent Ph.D. and a background in molecular and cellular biology, genetics, and biochemistry are encouraged to apply. Evidence of scientific publications is required and previous experience with RNA molecular biology and bioinformatics skills are desirable.
The salary is in accordance with the NIH standard.

Responsibilities: A Research Fellow at Mayo Clinic is a temporary position intended to provide training and education in research. Individuals will train in the research program of a Mayo Clinic principal investigator. Qualified individuals will demonstrate the potential for research as evidenced by their training and peer-reviewed publications and should become competitive for national research grants. Qualifications: Must have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent doctoral degree in a field deemed relevant by the program. Research Fellow is appropriate for individuals who have completed no more than one prior postdoctoral fellowship, at Mayo Clinic or elsewhere.
