Essential Functions –
A Research Associate position is available in the Center for Molecular Medicine and Genetics. The qualified individual is expected to work on a funded NIH project to characterize the molecular mechanisms of cell cycle regulation by long non-coding RNA using in vitro cell culture, proteomics, and biochemical characterization of RNA-protein complexes.
Major Duties –
Independently manage cellular and molecular biology projects, including the design and performance of experiments, summarize and analyze data, prepare weekly progress report. Prepare manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals. Manage laboratory compliance requirements. Assist in maintaining laboratory operations, equipment, and reagent inventory. Present abstracts (oral/poster) at regional/national/international scientific meetings. Mentor graduate/undergraduate students.
Qualifications – Ph.D. in molecular genetics, cell biology, or a related discipline.
Preferred Qualifications – 8+ years of relevant research experience.
